At the heart of Christianity is something that doesn’t make sense, doesn’t add up, doesn’t fit in with the way we understand things work. It leaves us uncomfortable and squirming when we grasp its radical nature. It is at the same time common and elusive. It’s what we sometimes love and sometimes despise. It is grace. It is more powerful, comforting and transformative than we often grasp—but when truly experienced and understood—it is the most beautiful gift we have ever been given and can ever give.
